Prince finishing was started because Shawn was under paid for his skill level, and was not learning any new skills. He was not treated well and seldom encouraged.

We encourage growth in all aspects of our installers lives. The great thing about the working relationship we have with our installers is the more income they earn, the more income Prince Finishing earns. Our finishers are paid on a percentage of contract basis. The benefit to this is complete transparency and trust.

Prince Finishing handles many of the things that many finish carpenters would rather not have to do. Like: billing, vpo requests, finding great stable work (quoting large projects or submitting long term pricing), shop for consumables (nails, staples, screws, glue, filler, sand paper, etc), pays the installers via direct deposit (1st in the Edmonton market to do this with finishing sub contractors), schedules all work and time off (other crews will do 2nd stages for their peers when the need arises), makes available online all required documents and plans to accurately complete jobs, perform quality control inspections on all jobs (only hold back is for work not yet complete like 2nd stages) and ultimately giving our installers the foundation for success.

The skills to be able to complete the following as a MINIMUM.  Hang Doors, install pocket doors, case windows, install baseboard, stub wall capping, install Ulay, install wood capped ledges and niches, and a plus wood be the ability to build mantels and built-in cabinetry. Of course you would need to be able to install other mouldings which may include crown moulding.
